Recording and Resources Available – AAMC/CDC Webinar on the Urgent Need to Increase Immunization Coverage for Influenza, COVID-19, and RSV
As the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) raises concerns about the urgent need to increase in immunization coverage for influenza, COVID-19, and RSV and the use of approved therapeutics in the setting of increased respiratory disease activity, the AAMC recently partnered with the CDC for a timely webinar with Demetre Daskalakis, MD, MPH, Director of the CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases and moderated by Jonathan Jaffery, MD, AAMC’s Chief Health Care Officer. Dr. Daskalakis discussed the latest data on ongoing increases in national and international respiratory disease activity caused by multiple pathogens, including influenza viruses, SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19), and RSV, recommendations for the COVID-19, flu, and RSV vaccinations, and how physicians, health care leaders, and other clinicians can engage their patients to improve vaccine access and keep our communities safer during the fall and winter season.
